Only 26% of us have internal monologues, where we talk in our head and work out issues and utilize cause and effect logic. I can’t imagine not being able to talk something out in my head and debate it. Another example is, when you are ready to leave work for the night and your manager says, “Can you finish this TPS Report?” For me, I have a litany of very explicit, “What a fucking asshole to lay this on me when the day is over. Piece of shit. Etc….” going on in my mind. Some people don’t have that. They just get an emotional response with no voice playing their head (I wonder if these are the people that are easily triggered and become violent???). Tim Pool recently talked about how these people are best described as NPC’s.
Turns out, a minority of people are also able to picture something in their heads or see a scene as if it was playing out like a movie. A large portion of people however, can’t visualize reality in their mind. I can see an apple in my head as if it was on the table in front me, heck, I can see the table it is on and the fruit bowl sitting next to it. But there are people out there that can't picture the apple. They know what an apple is, they can associate the word to the object, but they can’t see it in their head. (That has to suck for reading a book. I personally, see a movie in my head as I read. That’s why I love to read.)
That means that 74% of the population are just NPC’s (Non Playable Characters). They do not have the ability to visualize issues and then debate those issue from within. In all truth here, they are less, when it comes to being able to use their mind. And that’s a majority of the people. There really are way more followers than those with the capability for individuality.
Kind of makes sense why the world is fucked.
This new finding also gives more credence to Simulation Theory (we’re living in The Matrix but probably better represented by the movie The Thirteenth Floor). Why? Because, like in a game, you want to conserve on using processing power. So all of the NPC’s in a game, lack the ability to do any more than their programming. This means those resources can power other parts of the game and make it “more real”. This conserves processing power for the simulation. If 74% of the humans are not using (and indeed, do NOT have) the ability of internal monologues and visualization, then that’s a hell of a lot of processing power being saved from running our simulation.
We should probably have a test to weed these people out from positions of power. I’m pretty sure my current manager is one of these people. No matter how I try to explain something and how the cause and effect logic will work with something, he doesn’t get it. He’s completely surface issue with everything and the results that I can clearly see coming down the pike are impossible for him to internalize or even visualize. Talking to these people is always an exercise in patience because they are incapable of “getting it”. As such, why are people with no ability to link cause and effect internally, in any position of power? All they are is “yes men.” And that’s why they get those positions. So they can say “yes,” to the person above them, and that person can probably internalize. God forbid you get two in a row incapable of internalization.
These people should be regarded as NPC’s and FOLLOWERS and they should become the worker class. No chance of ever having or being in a position of power. Unless you can argue an issue from within your head and come up with a correct solution that has weighed the various issues, you cannot have power. The world would be so much better off. The amount of things that would get done right, would be off the scale.
I read for exactly the same reason. I am always disappointed when the movie isn't what I saw in my head 😒.
I have met/worked with people who can't "see," many times they are failed upward, 🤬 it's extremely frustrating. And, no, they should not be in places of control or power.
NPC whisperer here.
There is no way 26% are real humans.
I'd be shocked if it were 2.6%.
It's 5% at most, and possibly 1% or even lower. Though it might seem like 26% if you only filter out the standard variant NPCs, basically your average predditor who is shocked when they learn most of that board is bots because the bots are indistinguishable from NPCs.
I dunno about Simulation Theory. I'm with Celeste on this one.
>no designer that advanced would be that retarded
