Then again... Avoidance detection on drones cures this issue. So... The powerline thing may be an old reason at this point.
I don't think he would have. He and the band weren't the closest of friends in real life (why they were broken up for so long). I hope this travesty is only a one off and not something they are thinking about pursuing.
