This had me laughing beginning to end then again after I replayed it and will always whenever I need a good laugh. This, in my estimation, is what Substack is for - brilliant writing, even if it is a giant troll piece. You cleared the bases with this towering hit. Bravo!
😂🤪😂. this is great! i was a mamma & dogpile user. i despised & refused to use google as long as i could. i read about it & knew what it was...the info i looked for wasnt predictive or whatever term they used. i watched as i was locked out of more & more, the internet shrunk to nothing & became a drag. (told my age 🤫). i have long thot about linux, since the beginning, but have wondered about investing the time to learn it. i have a new acer i dont even want to open let alone use simply becoz it requires me to sign into an acct & the 5 yr old 1 with a cracked screen doesnt. im walkin away more & more from all of it.
Disclosure: I got my ass tossed of Twitter and learned how they were not only fingerprinting via IP but as with testing your browser in combo with your OS. So out came Ubuntu in a VM and after several attempts I finally made it back on.
Re the Apple peeps - I recall a meme while Apple was running their "Be Different" ads, and it was a photo of a bunch of the Apple peeps, lined up in neat little rows as they sat in the coffee shop, all near clones of each other. As a reluctant corporate droog at the time I had a good laugh about that.
Macs limit your choice, do too much for you unless your main concern is running the suite of Adobe products for creative endeavors. I've run VM Fusion on a Mac with - OMG Apple peeps get your panties to high twisted knot level - MS SQL Server. Oh the agony. Why? To see if I could operate some tools other than what was envisioned by Jobs / Cook.
At the bank where I was consulting for Y2K remediation, they used OS2 - holy shit what crap that was. Token Ring network - PITA. Some of the servers were AIX Unix, again IBM flavor.
Mac folks like to think they are on the cutting edge, but that's like saying driving a Tesla is like driving manual transmission. It ain't, there's so much you are removed from you really are in bubble. Like the fish that escaped the dentist's office in Finding Nemo, floating in plastic bags, unable to swim and one fish asks "Ok. Now what?"
Why on earth would a homeschool do that? Do they also teach about sexual positions in 1st grade?
Unfortunately most people are completely ignorant about Google. Google makes money by collecting your information and selling it the highest bidder. Every google product you use exists to collect your data. They aren't running a charity. They also happen to be very tied in to some sketchy government agencies.

Thank you!!! I appreciate it 👍

raspberry pi only costs about $65. linux isn’t hard to figure out.
thats encouraging!

Extra credit for the trolling! Lol
ChromeOS is a variant of Linux. So is Android.
Linux is a variant of UNIX.
MacOS is a variant of UNIX.
So, there are really only two OS' left in the world: UNIX and Windows.
And Windows is primarily a gaming system.
So there you have it.
Well, that’s disturbing. My daughter’s home school pod this year will be using chrome books. Is there anything I can do to make it better?
Not really. They are pure Google.
Technically they are not supposed to track kids accounts but again… We know how these companies use shadow accounts.
Keep it for just schooling and keep personal use off of it. That’s the best one can do.
Thanks
