I messaged some of my “friends” that I was deleting… never heard from one of them. I know who my friends are. Best thing I ever done… going on 5 years!!

I deleted mine at least six years ago. It was clear what FB was evolving into. The truth is that the "friend" count was designed for dopamine hits, and when I virtually disappeared, few people noticed. I know who my actual "friends" are. Still don't miss it, not for one second.

Facebook loathes anything outside of itself. It wants you to stare into the mirror and be transfixed. In this, it will always amplify misery over happiness. Conflict over unity. Ignorance over wisdom.

I deleted FB many years ago, long before they were exposed. Interesting fact, you can’t delete the FB app once on your phone, you can only ‘disable’. Even then, they continue to gather data analytics aka track you!

Sidenote: Fact over Fearmongering & Propaganda: Project 2025 originated with the Heritage Foundation, not Trump or his administration. The Heritage Foundation is a 'think tank’ whose “mission is to formulate and promote public policies based on the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong national defense.” (heritage.org)

Raegan adopted some of their ideas, Trump as well. They aren’t mandated however. There’s the lie/misinformation.

Trump’s agenda is on his website: Agenda47 https://www.donaldjtrump.com/

I get asked how I can live without Whatsapp frequently. My answer: easily.

I really hope to do this someday. I don't know how people find customers without it or connect with people...if I delete I'd literally have zero contact with any human in the world aside from substack comments and occassional phone calls ...I love this post because it inspires me to take my hermit ways into full recluse mode....but I'm not quite there yet.

It can be done. May require re-structuring life to add in-person contacts. Start slowly & work up. fB is a bad addiction, should be kicked asap.

I hear you, but there are no in person contacts, my business is done online with clients world-wide, none are local , this is why it is so difficult :( My closest friends are not local, in-person either so it's how we stay connected. I'm not addicted to it, I don't scroll, I use it strategically, just don't like the censorship and madness of people constantly falling for propaganda.

Heck yeah, I walked away in 2020 when crap got weirder. I still have a profile so I can look up farmers market stuff, or collect family pictures after a family event......but I don't message, post, respond or like anything there, ever. I just have a "holding page", if you will. It's nice to never log in and see what crazy BS people are posting. And with my people, I love them, it is some crazy BS. I would rather not know. Then when I see them, all that crap is not in my head. I can be glad to see them in the 3d in "real time" without "KNOWING TOO MUCH". Its the only way to travel.

FB tagged a satirical post I made as “misinformation” (of course it was making fun of Fox News) They literally said my posts will be moved lower in the feed. It was my second satire post tagged as misinformation which I find idiotic. I appreciate this post. I believe all social media now (owned by billionaires) are serving Project 2025. They don’t realize they’re going to end up assassinated or controlled like in Putin’s regime once they put Trump in power. They just think they get tax cuts and a controlling interest. Chumps.

That's interesting since it is mostly middle to right that is censored there.

And not sure why name dropping Trump here was relevant but... Go Trump 2024!!! So much better than the leftist ideological agenda that uses real fascism via government and private companies to stamp out individuals and free speech. I'll take Project 2025 over morally repugnant leftist filth any day.

And the only people attempting assassinations are on the left. Not to mention, over 90% of the shootings are done by those on the left or identifying as leftist or Democrat. Violence comes from people on the left. So I take issue with your view point.

You may be right. Just my take.

Still trying to figure out how to delete Insta. I think I might need to put the app back on my phone. I’ve been collecting stuff from FB I want [contact info and any pics] but the hot deadline is Oct 1. I already have had some nice phone dates and will be having a real lunch with someone next month.

For Instagram:

You can delete your account by going directly to Accounts ownership and control settings in https://accountscenter.instagram.com/personal_info/account_ownership_and_control. Or you can follow these instructions:

Click More in the bottom left, then click Settings.

Click Accounts Center, then click Personal details.

Click Account ownership and control, then click Deactivation or deletion.

Click the account you'd like to permanently delete.

Click Delete account, then click Continue.

And then Facebook has an actual link that I put in the post. They don’t make it easy or straight forward.

You’re my hero today.

I didn't delete it, but I left up a text meme saying "WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE?" in big block letters.

I figure anyone who comes looking for me will see it and get the message.

I don’t use mine except to share great stuff I get here and elsewhere, and piss off the lamebrains over there, and see how many I can trigger. It’s fun. Nut that’s the only reason I use it, and old ford diesel truck sites.
